I want “Accidentally in Love” from Shrek 2 to win. It’s definitely the most fun – two of the others are really rather dull show tunes, although the French one is pretty cool. Bum. Ah, well. But the winner sang his acceptance speech. Yay!
Interestingly, two of the song nominees this year have been in Foreign – one French and one Spanish. Apparently the Spanish one is the first one ever to have been nominated. How strange.

Again, as with the Best Documentary and Best Live Action Short, they’ve not even given us the slightest idea what these films are like, or why they might actually be worthy of an Oscar. Very annoying. Basically this film called “Ryan” seems to have won Best Animated Short, and I have no idea why…
Heh. Chris Rock introduces Jeremy Irons as “comedy superstar”, and Jeremy does, indeed, make with the funny And then one of the nominees basically has to be elbowed awake by his partner And finally, the winner declares the award to be “The Dog’s Bollocks” Best award so far!
Wonder if I’m going to bother going the distance. Not enough Chris Rock for my tastes. And the Phantom Of The Opera song is dull, dull, dull.
