I started up again, around 7, and am now on 24,117. So, a 4K day, plus I got a lot more plotting done. I think I have connected all the dots all the way from the end to the beginning, and added (and even named!) a new important character. Betto and Lady Amanata are just [...]
Two sessions today thus far, 1K each, so I got a 2K day done, and it’s only 3. I’d vaguely like to get back to the 2K per day number (I’m about 3 days behind that), but I’m ahead of 1667, and I’ve still got time today to do some more plotting work.
Although I have posted no actual words today, I have done over a thousand words of plotting; not something I’d call an outline yet, but maybe with some more work. I actually have my bad guy, and my bad guy’s plan, which is a fair chunk of the battle. Up until recently, I knew my [...]
Well, not really. Yesterday, I did exactly zero, zip, nada. Add to that, Friday I only did about 1K. So I was three thousand words behind when I started, not counting today’s word count. And it turns out weekends are when I actually do other stuff. Not that I have that excuse for Saturday (or [...]
Got myself up to 16K – that writing session earlier in the day was very helpful. Decided not to push it, especially as I have a phone interview tomorrow. Renzino has opened his eyes and exchanged some banter with Betto. NaNoWriMo have also turned on their API, meaning one can now run Progress Widgets (one [...]
Officially Week Two. I got a fairly solid session in from about 12 onwards, so I’m up to 15K, leaving me only 1K later to get me back to the 2K/Day rate. I’ve done something I rarely manage to do – leave a scene that isn’t working with a “fix this later” tag, and gone [...]
Didn’t manage 2K today – don’t think I even got 1.667K like you’re supposed to. Same as yesterday, basically, except even worse, plus I have to get into town early tomorrow. Actually, that’s not even a workable excuse, as yesterday I got my 2K by this time. I’ve got 500+ words to make up for [...]
Well, I managed my 2K, but it was pretty close. I faffed about all morning and most of the afternoon, doing nothing; I really only started at 5, and it was all dribs and drabs until after 11. But I got there, in the end. I went back and added a mugging in a forest [...]
This is The lady Amanata Taiapetra, who my ex-monk Betto has just met. He has Renzino, the rogue, with him, but as he’s unconscious, neither he nor Amanata know his name yet. They’ve also met up with Amanata’s maid, Milena, but I’ve not done a picture of her, yet. Did pretty well today, taking myself [...]
These are two of the characters I’m using for my 2007 National Novel Writing Month effort. One is a recently dismissed monk, from an island abbey with an extensive library; the other a thief, assassin, or possibly some other kind of ne’er-do-well, unjustly accused and persecuted. They’ve just been thrown together kind of suddenly; I’ve [...]
