I’m trying to come up with a way of writing all this that doesn’t come across as self-pitying whining, but haven’t managed yet. We’ll see how it goes. I’ve not updated the blog since January, so firstly, I haven’t fallen down any sort of hole, nor have I been abducted by aliens for any probing. [...]
No Internet access at home, so I’m now hiking up to the local library in order to get my daily fix. Maybe some regular out-of-the-house time will be good for me? Work continues on my NaNoNovel, even though November is over. I’m currently back in the outlining stage, as it turns out I didn’t do [...]
I’ve just got back after a week’s house-sitting for Chocolate Muffin and Agent Grey. I was sole carer and defender for their two kittens, Harry (a.k.a Harryharryharry) and George. They were much bigger than last time I’d seen them, a few weeks back, when they were barely a handful. Now they are quite bit – [...]
Yes, it’s been a little while. I’m sure you’ve been chewing your fingernails wondering about developments. Well, it rained, it rained, and then it rained some more. The lawn, and everything else, seemed to like this. So I cut it all down again. I forgot to take “before” pictures this time (d’oh!); there was a [...]
On Sunday, I trekked back to HomeBase and got some Lawn food for the garden. I thought long and hard about declaring chemical warfare on the weeds, but the “do not use the next four mowings for composting” put me off. What I perhaps should have done is bought some grass seed and done what [...]
I’ve not been blogging much recently, which is a pity as, rather unusually, stuff’s actually been happening. I went to the National Student Roleplaying and Wargaming Championships, held just up the road at Edinburgh. Apart from the New Year, this was pretty much the only face-to-face roleplaying I’ve done in about two years – which [...]
On my way back from shopping today, I saw a pair of foxes, chasing each other across the road from one island of green to another. It was rather cool – they looked very strange in the yellow sodium light, and the one being chased was even barking (possibly the “yiff” of legend). Rather closer [...]
This weekend, I’ve been back up to Dundee, to try and set up the last remnants of The Move. It wasn’t as successful as I’d like, as I wasn’t feeling too good, for whatever reason. But basically all that’s left is a few boxes (probably merely a back-of-car-ful, rather than a van-ful) to bring down. [...]
Just a day after getting the news that London is going to host the 2012 Olympics, there have been explosions in the City, on the Tube and at least one bus. Everyone’s saying it’s pretty certain that it’s a terrorist, and likely al Queda, attack. Sad times.
