"Creative Slacker" referrs to the fact that I should be doing creative stuff - writing, art, 3D animation, RPG stuff, but I don't. Maybe "lazy bastard" would be more appropriate.

As you know, I’ve been involved in making a Star Trek Fan Film for the past little while. Well, it is now out! You can go get it at the Star Trek: Intrepid main page and follow the links.

Having now actually seen it in its entirety, it is pretty good, especially for a first effort. There are some audio issues, but they were down to us not knowing how to record audio!

If you’re interested in my contributions, I’m playing Dr. Richard Garran – the long haired beardy bloke in the odd grey-and-blue uniform who hates Starfleet. The bulk of my special effects work was done in the first scene, with the Captain’s transport ship.

Anyway, the download servers just aren’t working hard enough, so I suggest you go give them a workout…

Wow. Just wow. Justin Henton’s student film is a fun take on the “animator versus animated” clips that are around. Lovely stuff.

I’ve been struggling with Lightwave tonight, for U.S.S. Intrepid, trying to get a tractor beam to look like a tractor beam. Simple enough, until Lightwave decided that it won’t even let me create .avi files, and any Quicktime movies it creates are pure black – no picture at all. What a fun few hours this has been.

So sod this for a game of soldiers, I’m playing World of Warcraft.
