This month’s One Game A Month game is “EvolvaLanda”, a Lunar Lander clone. It’s called “EvolvaLanda” because I was originally going to have the lander evolve an optimal landing strategy, either as an end to itself or as a way of creating opponents for the player to compete against, but it’s taken me pretty much the whole month to get the basic gameplay working!
The version I link here is a development version used to tune the various physics constants, to make the controls “feel” right. If you’re interested in having a play, please feel free, and to put your settings in a comment or a tweet to @korvarthefox.
WASD or arrow keys to control the lander, “R” resets.
- thrustMax – the maximum thrust of the main engine
- thrustDelta – how quickly the up/down keys change the current thrust
- maneuverJetThrust – force of the left/right maneuver jets
- weldStrength – the break threshold of the joints.
Next on the TODO list – make actual landing platforms, and scoring!
