Not good; not good at all. Twice was enough for me, many years ago, and I moved (from the Old Kent Road). Unfortunately the Wicked also operated in West Norwood, and they burgled every flat in the block except mine — several times. I had installed hinge bolts and internal lock-side bolts as soon as I moved in, and that may have helped.

I will now bitterly rue my earlier flippant remark about the UPS and your monitor.

Oh no! I’m sorry you’ve been burgled. Looking for another place sounds good – it can’t be nice wondering when they’ll be back.

You must complain to UPS. I’m sure the delivery guy just wanted an easy life, but the consequences were serious.

For god sake. What a nightmare. Someone tried to steal my car at the weekend but didn’t manage. Totally ruined my hillwalking plans.

Definitely think you need to move away from Harthill quickly. I’ll help.

Yeah, I know what you mean about them coming back – it’s been my assumption they’ll try again. So I’ll probably hold off until the second lock’s fitted… maybe until I get some bear traps, too

Oh No!! It’s horrible being burgled (I’ve been through it twice now), and having things taken. Even worse is the thought of someone having been through one’s things. I hope you’re insured, and if not, please get insurance when you move!!

After my first burglary, I was advised by the police not to replace my things too quickly, as sometimes the thieves wait until things have been replaced and have another go.
