Almost had something interesting yesterday – the copy of “Angels and Demons” I had bought from Tesco a couple of weeks ago as my workplace reading material turned out to have pages 165 – 197 duplicated, meaning I had a big chunk of book missing.
Today, however, the nice Tescos people replaced the book for me with a proper working copy. Yay!
However, I didn’t get a chance to read it today – appallingly bad headache, completely unaffected by paracetamol, drove me away. Currently typing this mostly with my head down, while I wait for the clock to tick down to the next time I can take my headache pills. Then it’s back to bed and a pillow over my eyes.
And…. now! G’night!

If what you have is a migraine, in my experience most headache pills make no difference. I have had success with migraine-specific stuff like Migralieve and Neurophen Migraine (please pardon any misspellings of their product names).
I have twice recently bought a paperback and found one of the signatures duplicated (and hence one missing). I wonder if this represents a downwards trend in quality control for these books?
The shop was happy to replace the book I took back. One of them was sufficiently dull I didn’t bother.
For me, Anadin Extra works on the initial stages, and failing that, paracetamol & codeine for phase 2.
My problem was that I only had bog-standard paracetamol, which did nothing. In the end, I had to go out into the bright sunshine to stock up on stuff that actually works. that was fun.
It’s now into the third day, and it’s still not fully gone away
