Just discovered that I managed to leave my front door not only unlocked but slightly open all day while I was at work. Luckily, nothing got nicked! Guess there’s an advantage to living in a block of flats with a security door thingy…

Bike stats for today’s return journey (first time back in one since I got the bike comp):

5.29 miles in 35 minutes 9 seconds. That comes to about 9.03 miles per hour.

Interestingly, I took my old route to work today (to swing past the library to get the copy of American Gods that’s reserved, only to discover that the library doesn’t open until 9:30 (!)), and it’s shorter (by about .17 of a mile), but took slightly longer. Having said that, it was bucketing down today (my cycling clothes were still damp after being laid out for the whole work day). Not only was the rain slowing me down, but I also wasn’t pushing as hard as I might otherwise have done.

Still thinking about whether or not I want to cycle off to Asda later to pick up some shoes. My current shoes very badly need replacing…
