I actually did other things today as well as being disappointed by Doom 3. I bought a new Big Backpack (only £5, due to a broken zip that I wouldn’t have used anyway! Result!), and some essentials (loo roll, washing-up liquid, ice-cream, chocolate…). Plus I found some books at a used-book stall (I love those – three books for £1.50!)

And I sweated a lot. It was hot. Really hot! I thought this was supposed to be Scotland! Unfortunately I seem to have used the battery on my digital thermometer gadget, so I can’t regale you with the actual temperature, but it was hot, okay? I bet even SixFootHobbit was comfortable…

Anyway, Die Hard is on TV now, so…
